It's really quite an interesting read.

I read it as part of my ongoing development in currency trading, which is more about psychology than technical skill.

It's not a quick read, these things never are, but it's good. And the team GB cyclists didn't win crush all before them with gold at two consecutive Olympics by just being good cyclists who were very fit. They had to be mentally stronger than everyone else. Victoria Pendleton once cited Peters as the single biggest factor in her Olympic success.

It amazes me how much information there is on psychology and it's impact on performances and yet so few teams appear to make the most of it. Thats how it seems from the outside anyhow.

Schteeve was one of the first English managers to recognise the importance of Psychology when he appointed Bill Beswick, Sports Psychologist at Middlesboro.

They've had sports psychologists in football for ages.

I'm just not sure that the ones they've had are up to doing much.

Must admit even Will doesn't seen to have a go at the ref as much. Chrisi is always appealing but probably minds his language. Seems to make sense if we get promotion we should all swear by it

Great post ramondo. As someone who has studied the psychology of sport and the importance of strong a coach-athlete relationship, I love articles/examples like this.
