    Happy we're out? No.
Happy we avoided a replay? Yes.
    Happy Bournemouth dropped points? Yes
Happy Will and Grant got a nice rest? Yes

    So overall, I'm pretty pleased.

You know my feelings about the cup/league debate angry, and clearly we disagree. But I'm just another fan. How do you feel about the management saying "the one thing we didn't want was a replay", and saying a loss is better than "fixture congestion". Also, after speaking to some of the players last night, they seem to think all is well going in to Rotherham, calling that "the big game" of the two.

As a fan who was really keen to do well in the cup, do these comments coming from the club make your blood boil? (I used the exaggerated "blood boil" analogy as you are Angry ram)

Every player makes mistakes, in fact come to that everyone does, sometimes they matter sometimes they dont!

I'm not that bothered we are out of a competition which we were most unlikely to win, tell me when was the last time a championship club won an FA Cup?

Yeah i want to win every game, but frankly with 10 men that team Mac put out could have won it, but its very unrealistic not to see that a continued cup run could impact negatively on what is a very good opportunity to get automatic promotion.

Every game between now and May is a cup final, we simply have to focus on winning.

West Ham in about 1981 I think Swales.

This cup or league argument boils down to glory v money. Winning the FA Cup, however remote a chance it was, means a place in history that cannot be taken away. Gaining promotion means a shed load of money even before the latest hikes for 2016.

But that money brings with it severe consequences. A totally new financial paradigm with major cost implications as well as income. Not every team can deal with this.

More importantly it means we as fans have to get used to getting beaten regularly. Sure, some teams go up and survive for a while but very few have winning records. Southampton and Swansea have shone in the last couple of years, but how long for? A few years ago we could have pointed to Portsmouth, Bolton, Wigan, Fulham etc as teams that had made the grade. Where are they now - monetarily or on field performance wise.

Promotion may be a poisoned chalice but everyone seems to want it. The FA Cup is a golden chalice which does not
