    Barnes tackle

Phookin hell, looked pretty bad to me ...it got us a point though.. You can't react like that and expect to stay on the pitch..

I said he was putting himself about .

Match of the day tonight should be interesting.

I thought Barnes played the ball, Matic was late with his foot for the ball and Barnes' follow through hit Matics ankle, that's how I see it anyway.

Perhaps I'm wrong, Merson (I know he's a prick) saying that Matic cleared the ball and Barnes was late catching him on the ankle, that's not how I saw it.

    re: Barnes tackle

The footage clearly shows Barnes plays the ball, Matic is late coming into the tackle, Barnes' natural follow through as he is moving forward, you cannot abruptly stop the follow through of your foot when travelling its imposible.

Matic is a prick, Merson is a prick, and anyone else who agrees that Barnes did it intentionally is a prick.

Costa, Ivonic, Terry and some other Chelsea players do it all game, every game, they like to dish it out but cannot take it. - view external link

Pearce the commentator must watch hundreds of games, Merson actually played, along with Shearer and Savage, but you wouldn't think so listening to them rant on about this Barnes tackle, and Liniker is a do gooder who will always sit on the fence, Pundits ? They are all a joke and get their money by false pretences.

To make a tackle the opposing player must have the ball, at NO time was Matic in control of the ball, in fact IF Matic would have been a milli second earlier with HIS tackle Barnes would have been the one having a bruised foot from Matic.

I nearly threw my brew at the TV with Shearer constantly spouting Its a Terrible tackle, they should know better but obviously don't want to upset the apple cart.

F.A. Have cleared our Ashley.. well done for once to them..

I should think so .. The official saw what happened and got it right . Now they can get on with banning the nasty man who pushed our Ashley so viciously to the ground by giving him an extra game or two ban for appealing against the sending off..

Should also charge the smelly little grey haired foreigner who is in charge of the rascist club Chelski with bringing the game into disrepute.

Ive looked at that tackle several times on MOTD and it looks very reckless to me...sorry Burnley boys but that is my opinion. I accept Barnes may have got the ball first but that tackle could have easily broken the Chelsea players leg, ive seen players get sent off for a lot worse. Mike you seem to be saying that if a player gets the ball first then anything that happens with the follow through is perfectly legitimate? Well i have to disagree, as i said i think that was a wild and reckless challenge and i can understand the Chelsea player pushing Barnes to the ground especially as the referee didnt take action for the challenge, if it was the other way around would you still be saying the same thing? I very much doubt it.

On reflection Laz,, Barnes didn't tackle him,he was passing the ball and just followed through to put his foot down ,the Chelsea player came in on his blind side so he didn't see him until he tried to tackle him..

To be honest Lawrie, I'm very critical of Burnley players when they make mistakes ie, silly passers, bad defensive schoolboy mistakes and any downright stupidness, You have been to a couple of games with me so you k
