    McDermott

    Warburton(end of season)
Holloway(more than likely to go at the end of season)
All of the above I would be chuffed to have in charge
But as I stated venkys would not touch any of the above as they have experience baring Warburton.
I'm just not convinced, Robin. I've been through the detailed records of your three choices on Wiki, and - again - there is a mixed bag in terms of success and failure, although with Warburton, it's probably too early in his career to form an opinion. (To be fair, I'd have thought that's possibly true for GB too!)

Hello Robin/Aucks it is just my opinion but chuckings into a hat springs to mind, Appleton and Berg who were not by any means b

I quite agree pat it iss in a hat but MOST of thes mentioned have achieved promotion from the championship which puts them as an improvement over bowyer on paper of course
Under Gary I cannot see us being any better than what we are now
I am pretty sure mediocrity is something we should not aspire to.
As for patchy records I think that is the type of manager with very good records like mourinho type managers just would never cut it at a team with no money in a pig a whistle league
He record is so good because of what he has in front of him that's not me saying anybody would be able to do his job but having a squad of stars helps.

It's quite interesting this 'mediocrity' slant.
By this I mean that this infers that Championship status is 'beneath us'.
Just how many truly believe this? And more importantly - why?

For the majority of my life we have been a old second division club. Despite being told by my then elders that we were far better in 'the old days'.
But I could recognise times had moved on, and therefore held the view that 'that was then and this is now'.
It seems to me (as Champs as voiced) that the emergence of the JW era has maybe given the younger supporter some form of 'over expectancy' as regards our 'true status'.
Is it really as simple as that ie the over 50's say, reluctantly accept our current standing, whereas the younger end don't ?
It also infers that we should never 'expect' that we should have to endure the 'shame' of the Champs.
This is not a dig at the younger end, or towards those that hold this view, as it is clearly understandable given our more recent history.
    Disappointment

Despair. .I think this is where people are getting a little confused.
Personally im not saying BRFC should be in a higher position or even promoted because of who they are ..its more on what ive seen.
Im talking now..not past glories..weve seen the team put in some great perfomances last season including a very decent unbeaten run (which conn
vinced the majority on here to give GB another season) all giving us hope that we as a team get better and progress and have a goodgo at making that top six.
Even this season we ve seen glimpses of how good this team can be .I personally think with a change in management we could make those play off places albeit not this season .

Our past glories have no influence on my views ..if I thought this team was garbage id say so and say mid table it is..but I just think we re better than that .

For the record im 48 seen the good the bad and the ugly with BRFC

So effectively you sit within my preferred ''disappointed' group and that is what I was getting at when referring to the term mediocrity.
This brought about by the belief that what we have currently is/should be good enough to put us in with a shout. With to your mind a fresh manager.
This I agree with, ie I still harbour doubts over GB's current abilities.
Can he / will he step up next year? We shall have to wait and see.

Can he/will he step up next year ?

Is that not the question we all asked last season and we all got swayed by an unbeaten run of 12? games and said "go on then give him another season " ?
Deep down i do believe GB will be here next season regardless of results from now til season end ..as for stepping it up another gear ..i so wish he could but history says otherwise.

Howie it may, but then again may not, please you that you are one of those I 'take notice of'. From your advantageous position of actually being at every match.
I did smile though at your comment that we were ALL swayed by the final run in of last year. That though is not really how I recall it, if you meant it as 'we were sufficiently convinced'.
I for one said; well done for the resilience shown, but still held doubts of 'pushing on' and storming the following seasons league, as did you yourself I believe. Dan also, plus some others. This based upon too many drawn games and failing to fully capitalise when we appeared to be in the driving seat. Something that promotional sides demonstrate more often than not.
Also, our acceptance of GB's continued tenure was driven by our sense of 'fair play' and just maybe he will actually come good, much against our gut instinct.

48 eh. (Happy days). Yep your a young un alright!
But you will grow old, I am absolutely certain of that

Maybe a "wink" should have followed ..or maybe "we were sufficiently resigned "..

I think Kevin Gallagher summed up Rovers season pretty well on the wireless this afternoon ..he reckoned there was only Derby (i think there was one or two more teams than Derby imo) that have outplayed Rovers this season but yet again we re so off the pace. This squad with a little more consistency in selection and performance could and maybe should have been challenging for a play off position...squad wise in comparison to those in the top six positions ..we are very decent. I just think this season could have been so much better ..

There is, of course, the possibility that GB will learn from his mistakes and grow into the job. Some players do this, so it ma
