2 Wembley victories? Poor tactics, poor subs. poor signings, have been awful the last two seasons, when is he and the club going to realise you can't play young lads in defence at this level as it's close to 150 goals conceded in less than two campaigns now, pathetic and outrageous! He should shape up or ship out,, bottom 4 again after looking like we were getting clear, Davis has a lot to answer for!

We may have a poorer budget than most other teams in lge 1, but we have good players of our own & loanees, good enough for lge 1, but our management team...I knew it was going to be a bad day when on the way to the ground I heard Neil Baker on Radio Stoke responding to McGarrys question about what our formation would be "well it depends how they (Oldham) set out to play".
How THEY set out to play. WE are the team at home. Why aren't we going out with intent & playing OUR way to OUR strengths - or don't our management team know how to do that.
Spot on paul this has been my thinking for the past year.
Yes we had a good run recently but the football was still dire to watch.
What side plays the same way home and away and despite having the worst defence in professional football sets up not to lose instead of playing to win.
I await timmy and somersets replies.
I respect your views but this is mine before u lecture me.
No doubt the usual replies due, as we speak 148 goals conceded in less than two seasons is wholly unacceptable!

But why would I?
I've never said Davis should be absolved of any blame - of course not, he's the manager, he should take the rap when we don't perform in the same way he should be credited when we do well.
But playing Tate out of position, having no width and leaving players on the bench that I would rather see start are, in my opinion, big mistakes.
That said, my main gripe on this site is just about those 2 individuals who just seem to love it when we lose - because they were decidedly quiet (missing!) after Yeovil and S****horpe.
If that's how you wish to support your team, then fine, I'll leave you to it!
[EDIT] I still wouldn't sack him! What would that achieve?
Dean Saunders? do me a favour!
Completely agree with Somerset.
I anything, I have been 'dining out' on our two Wembley successes more than the Alex management. I remain convinced that SD is only interested in the next game (yes, he analyses what's wrong and tries to put it right, but looking forward is what matters.)
Saunders would be a poor choice of replacement anyway. With his son warming the bench occasionally it would smack of nepotism, and the fans would have a field day if Callum was not a star performer every time his feet touched the grass. I have, of course, nothing to base that opinion on.![]()
The 'sack Davies' calls do strike me more as frustrated tantrums rather than considered comments. But, hey, each to his own.
It would be completely the wrong decision to sack Davis and Baker. Yes, they have got things wrong and doubtless will again. However, there is no one out there who a) would come here on the budget they would have to work with and b)who would do a better job if they did accept the budget. We should and will stick with what we have unless Steve gets an offer from somewhere else that he can't turn down. Don't forget folks, it is not in his personal interest for the team to fail as it doesn't improve his job prospects.
