The prem clubs answer to no one. A lot of championship clubs answer to no one. We are cash cows, this was discovered in the late 80s early 90s. As soon as smart PR and business men realised each club had a hardcore following, and that people never, ever, ever change their allegiance to a club after they turn 10 (this is a joke age but you know what I mean!), then we are stuck. Prices have risen, along with merchandise, catering and even over night stay packages. It cant stop now.

I guess 90% of clubs are mired in debt, many of these would collapse without Sky money. Gate receipts dont cover anything so they wont worry too much about losing a few fans. Some DCFC fans called for a boycott of the Norwich game, but it was never, ever going to h

well it's effectively supply and demand though isn't it?

the only way to protest is to protest with your feet but even that is likely to fall on deaf ears.

I see it as somewhat hypocritical that some fans can complain about ticket price and yet still pay it.

    a la Norwich...

from what I've seen of the proposals they're actually very good. the way to do it is for the premier league to make it as a rule. there's no reason why it couldn't come out of these blockbuster tv deals.

So many people in this country are led to beleive that we have the greatest football league, the best stadiums and the best fans in the world. The drones that primarily watch football in this country lap it up and regurgitate it as if it's true. But what many don't do is go and look what is to offer elsewhere.

Let me be blunt football in this country as a spectator sport it ****!!!!!

There is not passion, true excitement or engagement any more with the man on the street. I've said to a lot of people since I've been watching a variety of teams abroad and seeing some sensational places, games and atmosphere I have lost my love towards the English game something I never thought I'd say.

Now more and more people are being drawn away to experience what football in this country was like and realising it is affectivly dead here.

You are paying here for bull**** and not a product but many refuse to acknowledge that. Instead they want to hurl abuse at the likes of a 73 year old woman and

The price rise has been quite steep but they will argue it still represents good value compared to other clubs - which in a way it does. Otherwise there wouldn't be 18000 season tickets already sold for next season.
At the moment the current improvement in position, win rate and entertainment will convince people it's worth getting.
The issue for Derby will be if there is a downturn in all of those things - if you've got fans struggling to afford a season ticket or those who work shifts and will definitely miss a few games. If this happens and prices are high then we might see quite a steep decline in attendance down to the current hardcore of about 23,000 rather than a more gradual slide over a few seasons.
That might see a few deals introduced to tempt people but prices
