Lennon ready to hand Bogdan the number one jersey again...

ADAM Bogdan will be handed the number one jersey for the rest of the season as Wanderers fight to keep him at the Macron.

The Hungary international is now fit again after an ankle problem but has been kept out of the reckoning since his return by Ben Amos, whose form since arriving from Manchester United has won him plenty of fans at Bolton.

Now with Amos’ loan deal due to expire on April 7, Neil Lennon says he will give Bogdan a chance in the coming weeks as the club continue to try and tie him down to a new contract.

“I want to get him up to speed as quickly as possible,” he told The Bolton News. “Ben’s loan runs out pretty soon and Adam’s fit enough now. He’s ready to play between now and the end of the season.

“I want to give him some games. He’s been called up by Hungary this week and another game certainly won’t do him any harm.”

Lennon’s declaration places big doubts over the future of Andy Lonergan, who has been Wanderers’ first choice for much of the campaign.

I think that you'll find that Amos was playing because Bogdan was injured :/

Here's another twist, with Wigan going down why don't we make a cheeky bid for Ali habsi. I'd love to see the faces of the pie eaters if we took him back.

While I admit he's been decent this season (occassionally brilliant) I'm still not 100% convinced by Bogdan. He seems to go through phases where he will play really well for a few games but then he goes off it for a while.

To be honest, same could probably be said for Lonergan too (and I'm sure both 'keepers would argue that the defense in front of them has something to do with it!).

Reality is, we're not going to keep Amos after his loan spell, so Lennon has to start looking at what we've got.

Or am I being too harsh?

By the way, would love to see Al Habsi back; I hated how we let him go when for me he was clearly the best keeper we had at the time.

If we could afford him I'd go for Amos. He was consistent if nothing else and that's Bogdan's problem - he can be brilliant or awful.

If we can't afford Amos then I wouldn't have a problem keeping Bogdan and Lonergan so long as our sh1te defence is sorted
