    Remember the days when ...

    ... Queens had a club shop either end of the main stand inside the stadium

    or when the players kicked free footballs into the crowd before games ( late 90's I think )

    or when the floodlights would be turned off as you left the ground to save electricity & money during the Harkness days

    or the half - time results manually put up on a huge board situated at the back of the Terregles Street terracing.

    When the club was very poorly run and there wee few if any players to get the fans excited.

    The only free footballs I remember we're at a pre-season friendly. In my mind it was played to celebrate the opening of the new stand. Was it against Killie? All of this may be wrong, my memory has become increasingly befuddled with age!

    A boy would come round the cinder track selling crisps
    ... the only flavour being plain, with a wee blue poke of salt that you added yourself.

    When all the players wore black boots, and pre replica shirts you showed support for your team in a big cup game by wearing a rosette...

    ...you would change ends at halftime by walking round the back of the coo shed. In those days I always preferred us to shoot towards the Terregles St goals in the 2nd half as that was the end I would leave from to get home.
