Hey up Tricky, just had two lovely weeks in the Lake District,with great weather.. Can thoroughly recommend it .. Keswick would be a nice place for you to stop and explore the lakes for a few days before moving off to another location..

We have looked online at guest houses in Keswick for when we can have a holiday there when our little un is a bit older.

One was called Squirrel lodge,
