Very true, it would have been a big gamble to change the squad dramatically (not that once he'd spent the majority of the budget on Thorne and new contracts he could), losing Thorne was big blow, losing the cover in Eustace and Mascarell was terminal, losing Martin added to that.

Take into account that having come 3rd with a record pts total for the league and the margins were very fine - as the fans of Wigan and Brighton found out!

    Not confident at all unfortunately.

Yes we had injuries, but we also had poor signings, endless tinkering, relegation form, and a coach who seemed clueless.

It looks like it won't happen now, but a change of manager is inevitable by january if he cannot get us back into the top 6. I currently doubt whether he can. He seems to want to rely on Mel Morris to do a Lionel Pickering and pump money into a failing group.

Sorry...just not all confident after the last 10-12 games, and conceding 10 goals in the last three games.

Who Do you blame for that. Mcclaren, Evans, Rush?
How can anyone have a serious debate with someone who points the finger at McClaren as soon as there is a down turn in results, but won't give credit to the same person who took us to Wembley after finishing 3rd with a record high points total and top goal scorers in the league!? Even with only 2 wins in 13 games we

Rattea, I can only assume you are being ironic when you say Swadale is up McClarens backside, but then continue to claim that Glick was blameless for any of Cloughs poor signings!

You ask if McClaren has made a single permanent signing that has improved the SQUAD, well the answer has to be a definite yes. If you compare the bench in Cloughs last game to the bench this season then the quality of back up is 100 times better. If you had asked if he had improved the starting 11, then that might be a different answer!

Why guys do you continue to debate with Rattea when it's blatantly obvious he is just on the wind-up? What's more it's the same discussion every time.

He's had an agenda against Rush from almost day one and he's support for Clough defies logic. We all know the football under McClaren has been head & shoulders above anything Clough's negativity ever produced. And it was Simon Clough who scouted our players, but lets face it most were/are average Championship quality, or worse.

Purely for entertainment, long since given up having an intelligent debate with him.

Mind you his obsession has got to the stage where he mentions me in threads I haven't posted on, which is a bit weird!

Looks like once again I took a punt on a probability and ... Got lucky hey

Looking at some of the comments by Rush as to Mcclaren going the ownership group shared my concerns!

"You are looking for huge amounts of investment in a Championship football club and that could be anywhere between £10m and £20m for a non-parachute Championship football club. Quite rightly, the board has to believe hugely in the person they are entrusting with that level of investment and I think they wanted to look for a new head coach."

Yet another fluke and I'm still completely wrong hey Swale - view external link

Tell me Rats, will this post be removed, just like those by Tricky the other day? After all, we have it on good authority from a Moderator himself, that there is nothing worse than having to trawl back over 'resurrected' old posts. Or, since all 4 of you need to agree on a course of moderation, will you block any attempt to remove this gloating, self-indulgent piece? Let me put some context on this for you (since I know you are fond of context), are you a law unto yourself where modding is concerned?

    Just asking...
