Think I must be in the minority, probably of 1, but I don't think Bent is worth anything and I hope we move on from him.

Doesn't suit our system whatsoever and doesn't work hard enough for the team.

SMc gave some big long contracts to some 'has beens' at Forest and I don't want a repeat here. He's already started it with Warnock.

    A big No from me,

    Kind Regards

I fear you may be right.. Don't like these contracts to older players.. Very similar to Forest.
I too am not overly impressed with Bent.. Nobody can argue his goal tally but he is a lazy bleeder.
    Impact player at best..

A common old school mistake... Thats only any good if you win.
You have to be more than that nowadays, teams defend from the front.. He has to do his 'other' work as well.. No passengers.

Agree. Also with his weight he will probably become more injury prone the older he gets. Big mistake if you sign him Mac.

I disagree, yes a striker who has more than one aspect to his game is useful, but a guaranteed 20 goals a season guy is not a bad part of the team - its more old school to expect your striker to be back defending when he should be lurking on the half way line to take advantage of any break away!

Nobody said a 20 goal striker was not a bad part of a team.. Ya just made that up..
Martin 21 goals this year... Bent 12 and we finished where?
Martin I will give has lots more to his game.. It's not the 60's fella where you play the big lad up front to bang the goals in...

Do you rate Rooney as a striker?

Faildale is not known for his expertise on the game tho is he really! To h blowing the budget of three player on one that does the job of half makes sense. Even when you have a player like Martin who shows an all rounder right in front of his nose.

Same as when we had Hulse and i constantly said you need a strike that contributed to the team to make a difference. Quite often you see tems go down high scoring strikers!

You just have to look at results to appearances with Bent playing to realise there's clearly something missing but like some said we were top after 17 games so we were going to walk the league.

Don't forget Bent missed the most important goal. The penalty which may have put us in the play offs. Never much said about that is there.
