Reminiscences of the play-off final. Was it really 10 years?

I couldn't really celebrate properly after the game as my principle emotion was relief more than anything else.

It was shameful that we were relegated out of the league and embarrassing for our club to be involved in the non-league at all. Yes the season had its novelty value, being by far the biggest club in the division and generally giving the opposition a good slapping every week was a different experience. And the season inarguably put us back on an upward curve. However, it was the consequences of failure that were so very nearly in touching distance that was the most disturbing thing.

As it happened, we were completely in control of the game on the night - all credit to the manager and players - and were never less than comfortable. After the sickening chaos of the Aldershot games it was a stroll in the park. Our supporters were superb as well, it was a fantastic demonstration of what we're capable of - off the pitch.
