    Mel Morris

Based on the various articles in virtually all of the press, including the Daily telegraph, it would seem that Mel morris will be announced as the new chairman of DCFC.
This throws up a series of interesting questions
Currently Appleby is the chairman, he is also the chairman/CEO of GSE the fund that owns the Rams, this would mean that if Mel Morris becomes Chairman then the position of GSE in terms of ownership and direction has potentially been diluted.
Does this mean that it is a first stage in GSE reducing their equity holding and that we will transition back to British ownership.
I find this news for more interesting than what happens to the current manager, as this will affect the club for many years to come.

It shows he's taking a prominent position within the ownership group. Maybe a sign of increased investment and also the decision maker on Steve?

Who knows. But a lot has happened fast since that meeting in America that he went to. If you believe the rumours.

A local investor, with influence. Got to be good thing in my opinion!

Seems he in particular had some beef with Shteeve. We may not know the ins and outs, but appears that MMs values for the club may be different to McClarens. Hence the outcome

Maybe maybe not, we know virtually nothing about him, sometimes as with GSE a neutral approach unclouded by sentiment can be the best for a club.

However, as with all things time will tell.

    re: Mel Morris

In my book there may be a few reasons behind this. I have no information but I think it "may" be none, one or more of the following:

    1. Teams that have been successful in recent years have local and British interests and understanding at the clubs?

    2. So much backing was put in to the existing management and leadership which has backfired a closer and more knowledgable person is being put in place. But like a director of football over a manager this could be at the next level up?

    3. Mel is possibly interested at pumping more money into the club but wants an element of control to be willing to do so?

    4. The ownership group want more direct day to day control and have put Mel in to be able to do this in a more hands on way?

Has this even been confirmed yet it is it still all pie in the sky still?

I think a combination of 3 and 4. Mel has invested more money in the club, which probably all goes through gse (or their accounts) and by doing that he wanted more input. This could fit in with gse wanting a more local, hands on approach by a major contributor to the ownership group. As they mainly live in the US or Canada and Mel is uk based it suits both parties but who knows!
