No, 'cos he didn't say that. I have read an identical quote from BBC radio Derby down to the last word, apart from the "owner" bit.

“I wanted to remain with the club and was confident in leading the side to a successful season next year. However, I have to accept the club’s owner,Mel Morris, wants to take a new direction.
Interesting ... On the face of it raises a few questions!
1. Has there been or is there a buy out going on?
2. Has patience/belief been lost in Rush and decision taken over his head? - view external link

This new Chairman of ours does not seem like a guy to mess with, so both points are quite possible. I will also be careful what I type too. I do not want another Karl Oyston scenario raising its head.
And why did you take the Paul Clement thread i started down?
It's confirmation from the BBC - who do not report it unless it's 100% going to happen
It's on their front page ffs.
Moderating here is hopeless.

The power of poor journalism again. Shows why people shouldn't take what they read as fact and ask questions.
Point remains tho Mel Morris seems to be taking the decisions now if this is the be believed.
Now in any other business this would be viewed a a failure on the predessors part or lack of confidence and a new stucture to supersede them. Not saying this is happening but on what I've seen else where it would suggest something like this to me?
Oh right, I thought I had read he had taken over from Appleby? Wrong obviously

I'd advise you not to put money on that Dave![]()
Or Steve is just blaming the guy who turned up and sacked him to his face. A new guy at that - so Steve might have thought he was the driving force behind it.Originally Posted by Rattea
In all honesty, do you think Rush and Brett Wilson didn't agree - like Morris over-ruled them?
