Even more just think: Manchester Untied let Paul Pogba go on a free transfer and now could be paying Euro 70 million to get him back again only a couple of years later.

To be fair I think even a six year old could work out the kind of player Burno was and a cold night against a team like Crawley would not suit him or his game in the ploughed field they play on!

Thing is we had him on loan to do a job. Think how many players Clough as you use him as an example did bring in and have gone on to bigger and better things. There's a fair few in there tbh.

    Three other thoughts here.

    1. Out of mcclarens loans do you think the likes of wisdom and co will reach any heady heights?

    2. Porto aren't a massive club. They are along the likes of the West Ham and west brom of football. They play in a poor league not even close to the PL or the like. Like the SPL they are more or less guaranteed a place in the champions league each year. If they weren't where would their level be?

    3. Just because a player signs for a club doesn't mean they are great. A single example would be Francis Jeffers who signed got £10m for Arsenal by ****n Wenger. There are many more ex

Jordan Ibe looks like he could become an established PL player especially if Sterling leaves.

Comparing Porto with West Ham or West Brom is a tad harsh. They won the Champions league just over 10yrs ago and in the only season they didn't qualify for Champions league in the last 10yrs won the Europa League.

John Terry was loaned to Forest as part of his development as was Beckham to Preston (another post). Both were 19 at the time and needed regular first team games.

Same reason Bueno came here! Subsequent high profile managers have let him go so to single out Clough who had no chance of keeping him is just a witch hunt. Rather than praise for spotting and getting him. As a loan which is better Bueno or Mascarel?

I don't think it is that unfair. It's a very poor league and like in the SPL Bly a few clubs are going to get into Europe. If you have champions league money nearly every year you are going to be able to afford players but doesn't mean you are PL. Look at Stoke a smal town club with an over sized income. A bit like a Chav winning the lottery

As for winning the champions league ... Wasn't the Moriniho and his brilliance?

not only was bueno an excellent footballer but he was an entertainer.

nigel clough can't have players like that in his side. people wouldn't fall to sleep and see what dross is being served up.

No witch hunt here, i dont care about Clough, he is long gone. Tongue in cheek post really.

I just found it abit sad that we never signed the bloke because management didn't rate him, hes just signed for Porto which shows he has obvious qualities.

Is that definitely why we didn't sign him?
