I may have merely prolonged the agony. The Rams were not looking like they were going to beat anyone in the play offs. For a lot of fans the Reading result was a relief.

Agreed, no doubt we would have been beaten convincingly in the playoffs. Although i didnt make it clear, i was hinting that things may have been different for McClaren.

Presuming the main reason McClaren got the boot was because of his inability to secure our top 6 position at the end of the season...
I believe that if Benty scored that penalty before half time, we would have gone on to beat/draw the match and secured a top 6 place.
And McClaren would probably still be incharge!

I often wondered if would have all been different if I hadnt got myself excluded from infant school.
