Didn't a wise man say play your strongest team and try to win every game

Would have been nice to have been to a couple of semi finals instead ... If only

He did and I remember saying it on more than one occasion.
All went downhill after the Reading result.

I don't need to say it, as its bleeding obvious that it was! That and Warnock getting sent off early, as for strongest side, well the side put out was hardly composed of kids and inexperienced players was it?

Of course that all supposes we would have beaten Bradford and then Liverpool!!

He still changed a winning team which said we don't care about this competition... Unacceptable in my opinion.
And of course you suppose we would not have beaten Bradford and Liverpool.

Rotation is a fact in modern football and it was by no means a weakened team, again the key factor was Warnocks rush of blood to the head surely?

I don't suppose nothing, just that even with unchanged team there was no more likely hood of beating Reading and progressing than with the team selected - perhaps the only justifiable criticsm is that we went to win the game rather than playing it safe with 10 men.

What annoyed me most was beforehand it was all about the cup being important just to sell tickets... He then picks a weakened team (whichever way you look at it) and then we go out... all his eggs now in one basket and he dropped them.
Posters on here saying yeah great we are out of the cup... We never stood a chance of winning it etc etc... We might as well not enter the leagues as we are never going to win the PL...
Club or McClaren, I dont know but all I do know is I won't waste my money watching DCFC in a cup until a am 100% sure they are in it to win it.

    Double angry..

You have a point, but I would say again it was not a weakened team really, all were experienced pros, and it was one of the old heads that let us down - I do think its a sign of the times and wouldn't be surprised next season to see the same, especially if the Boards target is promotion, though like you I'd prefer to see us go for every trophy.

Any coach is going to be cautious in the cups. In Macs defence we got a hell of a lot further than Clough did in any cup competition

Didnt Nigel get to a semi-final last season??

Angry, I remain with you on this one - and hindsight is wonderful when it proves us both right!
