    re: QPR/Blatter

With all the corruption within Fifa I think the FA have got to take severe action against QPR for breaking the FFP rules otherwise they could be the subject of an investigation themselves, if justice is not seen to be done.

If they do give QPR a lifeline, they will have to set down their reasoning very clearly and even then I think questions will be asked. The right thing to do is insist on the fine being paid in full, or place them in the Conference as an example to other clubs who are thinking of flounting the rules.

I think it's more likely to be a 1 quid a year fine for the next 58 million years.

Did QPR break the rules? Yes

Do they deserved to be punished? Yes

Is £58m fine fair? Not really, it would be like going £60 overdrawn at the bank, and getting a £60 charge for it. Which the OFT would never allow!

Did their rulebreaking cost Derby promotion? No, the Rams would have just bottled it against someone else had QPR not been allowed to play in the play-offs!

    Get over it!!!

    Get over what?

There are rules in place and they broke them. If nothing is done about it what is the purpose of having rules in the first place?

There has got to be some regulatory governance, otherwise the whole FFP will become a complete farce.

What the heck has our being beaten by QPR to do with it, it is totally irrelevant?

"Rules are for the obedience of fools and for the guidance of wise men"...Clearly QPR think they are the latter, but are they really?

    Tricky:

I suspect that you are right in that we have an agenda, in that we wish the team that beat us in the playoffs to be punished for having reached that final by nefarious means. Hands up, I do!

    BUT

Your agenda is equally personal / biased. If QPR escape punishment, then Forest (and a couple of others) can quite legitimately seek to have their punishments overturned too.

So get off your high horse and accept that, as usual, Derby and forest have mutually incompatible aspirations vis a vis QPR.

So by your reckoning, your a member of an organisation, the rules are agreed democratically by a majority vote of the members of that organisation, but its fine to ignore those rules you dont like?

The way the fine is calculated is quite clear, QPR deliberately chose to ignore those rules banking on getting promoted and not having to comply - its backfired, now they should put up or go and join the conference...simples!!

Tricky, I have no issues with QPR for beating in the final. They were there for the taking, we were the better side and yet we couldn't get over the line, we weren't good enough to make it count. So fine.

My issue with QPR is the same as it would be with Leicester if they had been relegated or any other team. Whether the amount of the fine is considered fair or not, the rules were there. QPR knew those rules, they chose to ignore them. Wigan were a far more established team in the premiere league than QPR yet they managed to comply and they als

    re: QPR/Blatter

Rules are there to be followed otherwise there is clearly an unfair advantage over those who follow the rules. QPR didn't and also think about what QPR gained by this unfair advantage they earned £62.38 million in TV and prize money from their year in the PL and will also get £64million in parachute payments. £58 million fine is not out of the way for gaining £126 million at least.
