    Same signings...

What`s worrying me is we seem to be making the same signings under PC as we were under Brolly Man ... I was hoping for maybe the odd PSG youngster, Madrid reserve etc but Ince & Bent were on the agenda already ( as good as they are ) so is Clement manager or merely 1st team coach ???

He was not appointed as "manager" even though the press keep using that term. The club's announcement of his appointment made it clear that he was going to be the "head coach". The announcement also said that the management structure of the club would not change as a result of the departure of McClaren and the arrival of PC.

Surely not to use the man`s connections would be stupid at best

You have a point but the posters on here would go into one if we started brining in young talent from top clubs.. Marcarell / Carroll etc etc.. How long before we had the 'Too lightweight' posts?

For the record, I would love to see a ball playing youngster come in.

    Dont have to be "young"

I think most on here want to see a line up of Camp Connolly Pembridge Shackell Huddlestone Seth Christie Van Der Laan Varney Sturridge Barnes etc

Loved em all in their day but when their gone...their gone for me

I'm sure you're right and I'm sure they will - but he isn't going to be the "manager" in the generally accepted meaning of that term; nevertheless I'm sure there will be players who, having a good understanding of his abilities and experience, will be attracted by the prospect of working with him - and possibly winning something

His title is head Coach, but he did say in an interview that he would assess the current squad, the proposed signings AND use his contacts at clubs to bring in high quality loans, the loans won't be until much later as senior squads are sorted out probably.

The way it works is that he identifies the players required (doubt the positions have changed much from McClaren tbh, the Recruitment staff identify players available and within budget and he has final approval.

Talking of the budget, it appears we have upped it considerably. With bids of 4.5 for Ince, 2.0 for Shackell, Weimann, Carson etc.
    And it aint over yet!

Rumoured there is not proof any of that is true! Problem is it can raise expectation to stupid levels then people get peed off when things don't happen!

As for clements contacts what contacts has he realistically got?

Think it through a bit at Chelsea, Psg, and Real his main contact is ancelote. But at each the management has been moved on and replaced with people he probably doesn't know. So unless Ancelote gets a job at a decent club his contacts are realistically limited!

Where has he said hes going to use contacts anyway swale?
