    Gomez on loan

Interesting. Don`t know much about this guy.
Wait for someone to complete a signing so another club can complete a loan. Football is never straightforward these days..

"According to the Daily Mail, Derby County will look to loan highly-rated England under-19 international Joe Gomez from Liverpool once he completes his £3.5million move from Charlton Athletic, which is expected to be concluded on Friday.

The report states that Charlton will also look to sign the player on loan from Liverpool for next season. However, since the Reds triggered a clause in his contract, the Ad****s may be powerless to implement such a deal.

Nevertheless, the report adds Brendan Rodgers will initially take the player on the pre-season tour which starts in Australia next month to give him a chance to break into the first team squad for next season.

If he then decides to send the player out on loan, Derby could be one of his more favoured destinations following the success stories of Andre Wisdom and Jordo

I'm not saying this is untrue but I think the fact McLaren is no longer here may have a negative effect on lads coming here on loan. Though did I read somewhere that clement and Rodgers are good mates??

Could do but i think the opposite. McClaren does whats best for McClaren, Clements star is still rising so lets hope it continues

I believe him to be a centre half, which if is the case then I don't believe we will get him. We've already signed Pearce, possibly have Shackel in soon as well. Would he start as regularly as Rodgers would like him to? If we did sign him on loan but have him as backup to the others then I'm sure that would annoy Liverpool and jeopardise any future business that we want from them.

Correct, they did their coaching badges together and are still in contact with each other, no idea whether this possible signing is true though.

This is an unjustified post - on the basis of the way we improved, MacClaren did far more than simply doing whats best for MacClaren. Loan signings from top clubs did increase - was that just a coincidence? The comments from Liverpool made public a view that sending a player on loan to us, was good for the player with MacClaren's coaching.

    Clearly you are a 'hater'.

And you need to think before you post and label people. Its my opinion.
Whilst often what was best for mcclaren was in dovetail with that of derby at the end in my view it was not. I have never critcised him and have posted that the last two seasons were particularly enjoyable. far more than the NC years.
However I always got the impression that he thought he was doing

Well anyway, Liverpool have apparently completed and the BBC has Derby down as favourites for him to continue his development.
