    So it begins

Players are back in full time training, with the emphasis on fitness training.
Yet again we have no sign (other than a thread off Chalkdust) of any new signings. We are leaving ourselves open to the same old story of last minute signings that are not fit.
Haber could come back in any shape and he was the one player who struggled to finish the games last term.
The OS is running with stories of the first year pros, who are going to do this and that, while to be honest if they were that close to the first team, they would have had a sniff already like Cooper.
No sign of Leigh signing, lots of praising Ness, but no sign of anything there.
    Coclough situation very quiet.
Blown out of the water by Shrewsbury on wages for Tootle.
Publically rubbished our one midfielder who actually knew how to tackle, ruining any remote chance of resigning him.
Vale resign 2 of their best players and sign 2 new ones (granted they lost Pope and Williamson - who I doubt will be missed by many Vale fans).
    Nearly

Like the line about the grass - last seen at Gresty Road in mid November, as I recall!!

On a general note, I've lived in the area now for the best part of 30 years and the local residents are, for the most part, friendly and welcoming, will stand their round and make you feel very much at home, even though I'm a (deep) southerner by breeding!

But by 'eck you like a good moan and the glass is three quarters empty, never mind half!!

Just an observation . . and please don't say we've got plenty to be miserable about, 'cos one place we haven't really is what I know think of as my football club.

Ah well, we'll go with what we've got and I suppose we'll get what we've had... again, nevertheless C.O.Y.R.:-)

Seems we have a bit in common, AstonAlex: "deep southerner by breeding"; in my case, over 40 years since relocating. I would endorse your overall summary!

In fairness to Dave Woo though, he's worried about the details. Others feel the same, and it's the same most other summers. Maybe it would help if the management didn't say anythi

Nothing for it, then, but to increase the 'feelgood' p.r. bombardment.

Step up another respected former player to say his piece (sing for his supper?)

Now we've gone from the Chuckle Brothers, via the Three Stooges, to the Three Musketeers plus d'Artell.

    well here we go again

no signings ready for pre season training

i imagine season tickets will be down as most people less really hard core will think like bbc repeats , theres nothing to get excited with

no new commercial deals with big firms - or little come to that

missed a few decent players - even vile signed a few and after tom elliott - would be a good cover for haber - we wont get Ness . Davis is dreaming - dont think colly will sign he would of done that by now

just to chear us up - why dont the club run a pre season party - as at the end of this i dont think we will have anything to cheer about

we will bring in trialists who we will keep for 2 weeks then let go - shame we cant do that for the board

in short im pi##ed off big time with the muppets running /managing the club from top to bottom

It's still very early days yet surely to God? Much as I appreciate that the whining and gloom-and-doom negativity is a legacy of two dismal seasons, let's at least wait and see where we are closer to kick-off rather than self-indulgently wallowing in misery at such an early stage.

Having supported the club for 60 years I feel it's far to early to reach for the suicide tablets. Someone mentioned on a previous thread that the club was run by amateurs, if that is so then the other local ex league clubs could do with turfing their professional management teams out. I can't remember us being non-league or being bankrupt or liquidated. I'm very happy to go with what we have got. Long live the Dario ethos lets give the youngsters a chance after all we are Crewe and lets be proud to be so.

I am too a massive supporter of “The Crewe Way”, also. I have always bored anybody who will listen of the continuous growth that we have all experienced at The Alex since I left South Cheshire back in 1986 at the tender age of 19. But having said that I think that is the big difference now, there is nothing tangible to point to that as a mere supporter of the club that I can say, “yeah Crewe aren’t a big club, they never likely to play in the Premier League, but from where we were look at what Crewe are now”. Because for the last eight years now the club has stagnated and now even looks to be going backwards.

The youth set up revolutionary in its day has been copied, caught up with and in some cases overtaken by other clubs. The ground development seems to have ground to a halt, we must be one of the few clubs in the league without a scoreboard or executive boxes. But worse than those incidentals, are that there seems to be a massive slowing down on the famous Crewe Production Line a

As a matter of interest, overtaken by whom?
If you mean Man City ...?!!!
