    England in WWC

Really enjoyed their gutsy performance last night. I can't, if I'm honest, see them beating Japan but they have already done the country proud. A shame that their performances will have had a smaller audience than they warranted due to the late kick off times.

Best match of the tournament so far was undoubtably the Germany v France game. Blood and thunder football for 120 minutes in a game that really deserved to be the final.

Behind them all the way, no pun intended.

Would be really great to see our women folk prove that they are the best in the world, which we already know they are!

Really felt for them last night. Another gritty performance and looked the likely winners in the second half.

A real shame for Laura Bassett who had been outstanding until that fatal mistake.

The country should be proud of their efforts and I hope this moves women's football up another peg here. Let's have more young girls playing the world's greatest game.

Agreed, and methinks they will all be about for at least one more major competition.

Not a great game to watch against Germany but just reward for their efforts during the tournament.

Stand out England performers in the WWC have been Steph Houghton, Lucy Bronze, Jill Scott and Fara Williams. Women young girls can look up to and try to emulate.

As long as you don't try to compare it to the mens game and accept that a female physique will produce a different type of game, I can easily enjoy watching the worlds best women in the sport give their all.

Like most competitions there are good and bad games but I would be surprised if any football fan could have failed to enjoy the Germany v France game.
