Find this all a bit sad. Can totally understand Clement wanting to bring in his own staff, but while I might be wrong, it all feels as if Simmo genuinely has real feeling for Derby and may be another who has paid the price of McClaren's personal 'ambition'.

If he rocks up at Newcastle with a higher paid contract then he will hardly have "paid" the price!

Changes in the manager/head coach tend to to result in changes to the backroom staff a fact known and accepted by those who work in the game.

Sad to see the guy go, but then the coaching team as a whole must havesome responsibility for last seasons failure?

Seems you were right Swale...yesterday's news suggests Simmo has eventually 'rocked up at Newcastle' so, still sad to see him go but I was wrong about him paying the price of Mc's ambition.

Love to know how all the compensation deals were eventually worked out seeing as McClaren and now Simmo have ended up exactly where many predicted six months ago but we appear to have had to sack both of them. Not sure we'll ever know.
