A four year contract is massive for him and with his injury record (and recovery time likely to increase as time goes by) it's likely that he will be increasingly used sparingly in cameo performances. In some ways it's a bit like what happened to Michael Owen, once he hit 30 he was rarely fit.
I hope he does well, especially against other rivals, and I wouldn't have minded keeping him but I get the sense that Weimann is his replacement. His style of play is a similar all action style, except he is younger and realistically an upgraded model.
Either way I will clap Jamie when he returns and will never forget what he did for us during the 'stability years'.

Love Wardy, and you just know that his best games for the stumps will be against us. He's an explosive nasty little so and so on his day, but ultimately it was the right decision to let him go.

Fingers crossed Weimann can consistently produce performanes like Ward's at Ewood Park earlier this year. Just hope Forest let Jamie take charge of all their setpieces. Have never been left more frustrated by a player taking free kicks than Ward, and i'm not just talking to QPR.

    Will definitely clap the lad.

At £250K he was a snip, but I'm not sad to see him go, we need better quality if we are serious about promotion and as has been said he usually only managed half the games.
Completely agree with that. He was good value, did well for us for a while but ultimately lacks consistent quality and has been repeatedly injury prone throughout his career. It's not something that's going to get any better with age and expect him to disappear like a hot house flower when the cold weather arrives. Almost guaranteed to score against us, but otherwise just time to move on.

We have a very nice man who pays our bills for us. Unfortunately this very nice man lives a long way away and is a little forgetful. Still he tries his best and everybody gets paid eventually. It's a pity that our very nice man so far cannot choose a decent manager and could do with another very nice man to help him out.
I thought he lived in a big house near Lichfield. Even if he is 'back home' you cant seriously tell me he pays all the bills personally. Your club is a shambles, run by a man who knows very little about football. It's brilliant...

Good luck to the lad. I don't think he put a foot wrong for us and he worked harder than most during his time with us.
