Clyne gone to the Bin dippers...

Undisclosed fee, I'm cool with this, his second half season performances were pretty bad and it's nice that we already replaced him with Cedric Soares before taking their millions. Sadly for Clyne it means Brendan's ineptitude and the expectations of the average deluded bin dipper will ruin yet another young talent. Oh well, good luck Clynie, thanks for 2 1/2 solid seasons !

"I'd like to thank everyone at Southampton FC," he wrote.

"I've had 3 unforgettable years at the club and I've loved every minute of it.

"You the fans have been great to me with your endless support over the years. I wish the best to the club for the future and everyone I've met on the way. It's been a pleasure. Thank you."

Fair play, it would have been good to keep him but hopefully his replacement will more than fill his boots.

Don't think we have had a Cedric playing for us before!

We knew it was coming. £12m is the reported fee but whatever it is we had some good years from Clyne, got the replacement in, made a seamless transition and made a few quid from Liverhampton into the process.

Glad he's gone. Sick of reading the headlines (never bothered with the articles in full).

Did a job for Saints for 2 1/2 seasons but his form since January wasn't stunning, just going through the motions, it seemed.

Didn't want to stay, preferred the glamour of playing for a big club (questionable) and the big pay cheque (understandable).

He's someone else's player now, so time to move on.

Not quite sure what happened there. Must have pressed the wrong button?

was intending to say I totally agree. Clyne has been on his way for months. It wasn't if but when. Once he dithered over the new contact the writing was on the wall. Good luck to him, it is all about money despite all the usual tripe trotted out at times like this. It remains to be seen whether Liverhampton do any better this coming season. I somehow doubt it.

Onwards and upwards. We proved last season, if pro

Fair play to Clynie, all the best. That's the right way to carry yourself when moving on.
