You are right Michael the TOTAL debt has ballooned under the Tories. So we must be in agreement - they should not have let this happen - agreed - therefore they should have cut spending much earlier and deeper to stop it happening (you wanted more so called austerity).
ps the reason why it ballooned is that it was growing at record rates under Labour - they are now stopping an ocean liner of debt and it takes years to turn it round - get ready to squeal midweek when they do some more cutting of wasteful spending in order to stop the ballooning of debt that was set in train by labour. Oh and yes we can be debt free - we ran a surplus in the 80's and paid back debt. We can eliminate the debt and then spend the money and interest saved on a better future for all - first we must tackle the debt - must must must.

Quite right gramiller. I often hear that we went to war in 1939 to protect our shores and our British values and way of life, because we did not want to be ruled by a Federal Europe governed from Germany. So here we are in 2015, part of a Federal Europe, governed by Germany.
