    jeffrey sarpong

After failing to impress United manager Steve Evans in his maiden trial game, the former Ajax winger and Dutch U21 international Jeffrey Sarpong will travel with the Millers for their Scottish mini tour.

He played at Alfreton on Tuesday night but didn’t do enough to convince Evans that he was worth a shot. Sarpong will now travel to Scotland, where Rotherham will play Greenock Morton, Dundee and Patrick Thistle.

“We need to have another look at him,” said Evans. “One game wasn’t enough to make a decision so we’ll take him to Scotland to see what we can do.”

Looked very fast on Tuesday. But he didn't look like a steve Evans type to me.

Seeing as he played about an hour at Stocksbridge, that's 2 games he hasn't impressed in!!

I wasn't there but I expect the pitch was hard and rough with the ball bouncing about unpredictably?

Hardly the conditions to show off any ball skills.

He has not featured in Scotland? I presume he was let go?

Think he could have been a decent player given a bit more of a chance no harm in a deal until Christmas or PAYG deal.

I personally think he could be given a proper chance. Sign him up on until Christmas, and let him show us what he can do.

Having seen lots of footage from his time in Spain, and the Netherlands, I think he would be a god addition, pacey(which we need), good crosser, can finish, and has a good work ethic.

A couple of games, after the player hasn't played much in a while, isn't really enough.
