But I can't see how a deflection and a hand-ball goal can be anything to do with the manager.
I accept there is a sound argument for him to go on the general pattern, but people keep blaming him for individual incidents that are part-and-parcel of a game of football.

    Give over Auks.

no one blames him for hand balls and deflections ..they just blame him for the 89 mins to rectify it!

If the crowd continue to get on his back, like they they are targeting certain players, it's best for Bowyer if he does go. It's then likely rovers will go down. The situation at the club won't improve overnight. Some are convinced we should've gone up last season, others think it's maybe as good as we will get. A new guy will not be able to sign anyone, will have to deal with Venkys, and put up with fans who will turn the minute results don't match their expectations. The board would need to have a very good insight into managers, and will have to have great knowledge of football to have exhausted all the leagues to bring in someone who will move us forward. With no money, and no way of strengthening. And will have to do that with someonelses squad. A new manager would not risk their cv by playing kids over hardened professionals they already know. So I'd kiss goodbye to any youth being promoted. And I don't think the board, nor the owners know football, and could go get anyone who wi

It would be funny if Rovers tempted Owen Coyle back from America.

Howie. I know it's something people (nowadays) do, look at the league table after 4 games. But really, is that something you did in 1972? They didn't even print it then, as it was pointless. That said, something is wrong. I feel the manager has now lost the dressing room. I believe we have been unlucky to lose Rhodes, at the same time we lost Gestede. If Rhodes and Hanley had a brain now, they'd both exit this club by Fri. It's not Bowyers fault we had to sell Gestede. It's not his fault that Henley and Lowe both got taken ill the night before a big away game. But fans will want to look at league tables after 4 games (something they've never done on watching football all their life) and chose not to look at that.

How long do they wait? Until after the Bolton game on sky this fri. If they don't win, he will be sacked. Of which I have no doubt. As in who comes in, they have a monumental task on their hands. I'd expect Rhodes and Hanley to leave too, and I can't blame them. Then it's

The hard cold fact is: we/venkys must gain promotion. I think that is something we all 100% can unequivocally agree on.
We all know where you are coming from Champs, and I do not totally believe that all that many are celebrating this situation nor really believing that a change of manager is the gilt edged answer. Despite what is put up in forums.
However, as Robin says putting all of that to one side and aligning promotion need (financially) with GB's up to press capabilities, it is not a comfortable place to be.
For myself, I believe that we are fairly comfortably away from being relegation contenders, providing the 'GB out' bully boys hold their tongues and abuse. It is totally unwarranted.
Unfortunately, given my opening para. That is unacceptable.
So we are left with: just how long do you give it?
That's the hardest question. My heart says the traditional ten games, but my head is saying should have been in close season.
Life generally can be harsh / cruel, and we all fr

Sorry Champs its simply not just looking at a league table ....its actually seeing week in week out no improvement or sign of improvement in how we actually play.It is only four games in but its season three for GB.

After nearly three seasons in charge you d think you d see a certain way in how we set up ..how we play..at the very least a spine to the side .Its just not happened. 35 players and counting and GB still hasnt put his stamp on his team.Nothing against the bloke but if you re not good enough its time for a change ...

Champs has put a very pessimistic view on things, but honestly Id settle for a manager that can keep us up! From what Ive seen, late last season and now this season there is no chance we can be in the mix for promotion, even with benevolent referees. Its harder this season, because without Gestede & (probably Rhodes)where do the goals come from?? But also we have more derby matches with not only Bolton, but Burnley AND Preston to play........thats another negative. And I havent even started on the defending(or as Alan Hansen used to say on Match Of The Day"what defending?").

This is no easy job for anyone, even with resources(which we havent got)so pointless for GB to go and the club not a clue who can replace him.
My big worry is that if GB carries on and results get no better, waiting till after Christmas may be leaving it too late.
On the other hand, there is no guarantee a new manager would be any better, what if he is even worse??
I think thats a chance Venkys will have to take
