    re: Bowyer sacked?

"But I can't see how a deflection and a hand-ball goal can be anything to do with the manager.
I accept there is a sound argument for him to go on the general pattern, but people keep blaming him for individual incidents that are part-and-parcel of a game of football.

    Give over Auks.

no one blames him for hand balls and deflections ..they just blame him for the 89 mins to rectify it!"

But even that is open to argument, Howie. We didn't concede any more goals, and we missed a number of good chances. In addition, Bowyer can't have been helped by two players getting sick at the last minute.
As I said, I don't dispute there are clear arguments for him to go, but I would argue that this season's results have not really been down to managerial decisions.
Anyway, to go back to your comment, I think you will find there ARE people who blame him for hand-balls and deflections, not to mention the assassination of JFK and Global Warming.
Basically, Bowyer is too conservative and rarel

    re: Bowyer sacked?

I agree with BobC that promotion is just not a realistic target this season. I find it hard to believe that any manager could quickly mould our present squad into top-six material. Take Rhodes out, and what did our squad cost? (Does anyone know the answer to that? I'd be interested to find out).
On the other hand, as Despair often points out, from the perspective of the finances, promotion looks essential.
I am just hoping Venky's are willing for it to be a two-year project (yet again!).
And I make no apologies for relying on the current owners. I know in some people's eyes, the first priority is still to get rid of them, but I am not keen on the idea of stepping into a vacuum. (Is a fan-based group REALLY going to fill the financial breach? Only in La-La Land!)
Some people point out Burnley and Bournemouth as recent examples of surprise entrants to the PL, and I do accept that it's not impossible, but if Rhodes goes, we will surely have to see mid-table as satisfactory.

    Hello aucks
I am dissecting your post a little
regarding Gary bowyer I do feel his job is quite a tough one pretty much everybody expected not a lot this season anything from mid table to 19th however when you sit down and think about your form to achieve the position discussed above its not going to be pretty sadly for a few they do not like that side of things.
When Bolton come to town it could almost be whoever loses could see their job got rid of
    Ok team selection wise
raya needs to remain he proved against Brighton he is our number 1
Centre backs I am thawing to Hanley and Duffy and should keep their place
we are getting a glimpse of life without Rhodes
    how does it look????

Just read this and it beggars belief that Derek Shaw was on the same plane as the squad and Pune had to be contacted to find out if there was any truth in the rumor's.

The only positive is Rhodes will play if fit.

Even Venkys cant alter this FFP fiasco, but on the bright side robin maybe QPR can.

No It's gone quiet but it's different rules for different teams so we are screwed whatever the result is
I have always maintained the rules should stand for all you overspend you cannot sign anybody for a fee
prem or lower should all be treated the same.
