Can't disagree with the above, but that has to put pressure on PC now. We must have invested (net) more (over £20m) this off season than in the past 10 years combined but - so long as FFP doesn't crucify us - the rewards of the new TV deal could justify it.

It really is a ********* or bust year

We have spent £10m in the summer transfer window which is more than we have had in our history to buy players with and I would say Mel Morris and Sam Rush have done a fantastic job but it's is now down to Paul Clement to turn the investment into a working piece of art.

Each of the transfers we have made will be paid over up to 4 years so the accounts will show as say £5m based on the £20m spent

This is our way of beating the ffp but imo is still a massive risk. I hate seeing clubs gamble millions to get promoted and we are doing just that

All we have to do now is hire a gypsy to take that "BLOODY CURSE" off us!

TMDS "We have spent £10m in the summer transfer window which is more than we have had in our history to buy players ..."

Are you really as thick as you come across?

    Weimann - 2m+
    Shackell - 3m
    Butterfield -4m+
    Ince - 5m
    Johnson- - 6m
    Carson - U/D

Is in excess of £20m. For wage purposes add Bent, Baird, Pearce etc.

Chris: yes we are writing cost off over contract periods (may or may not be 4 years). But this year we have last 3 years purchases to write off a share of. Next 3 years we will have remaining 15m to bury in addition to next year's spending... we are on the roundabout now and can't get off.

    Wages? I hate to think.

I'm beginning to sound like a rat here: not intending to ********* on the party, but my bladder is fit to burst.

Wow, its gone mad!!! Spending £10m in one day? I really hope the powers that be know what they're doing. We went through a hard 5 years with Clough and seemed to be starting to get the benefits under McLaren. Now a team that required a little strengthening has been given open heart surgery!!! I accept we needed to spend a bit to give us a good chance of promotion, but £20m, really? I'm in a state of shock at the moment!!! I dread to think of the consequence of not going up.

Agree with all that ramboy. Not totally sure who has been most responsible for today but it certainly shows serious intent and there is every reason to be optimistic that the team and manager can now kick start our season in the right direction. :-)
Seriously hope so anyway because Roger's observations/concerns are also entirely justified. :-S

Anyone else surprised that there has been no outward movement or is this now likely to be done in the form of imminent loans?
