    syria-weasel govt

finally doing the right thing.Took 200 plus Syrian refugees while rest of Europe take tens of thousands,Turkey 1.4 million.

we have enough money to fill the house of lords with Tory MP's who claimed for moat cleaning on their expenses. The establishment really is rotten to the core.

We still reap Tony Blairs legacy unsettling the region with an illegal war and leading to the unleashing of IS state. What a rotten world we live in.How he still feels fit to show his face i do not know.

Enough to turn you to drink-thank god we have the blues to cheer us up.

I agree with you up to a point Durham. When I worked in asylum, oly about 10% of applications were genuine, though that figure rose to nearer 25% as the appeal courts erred on the side of caution. very few of the other 75% were ever removed though, as they mainly disappeared into the country. And we were getting 75,000 a year then (late 90s). Cameron is now doing the right thing by taking more, and only accepting them from the camps. Only those fleeing war, or persecution for a Convention reason, are asylum seekers and you can just about guarantee that those in the camps qualify.

The issue I have is that of economic migrants. I have no problem with folk trying to better themselves legitimately, but I have grave issues with most of the tens of thousands coming from North Africa who seem to be getting a lot of sympathy. In order to progress, African countries need to cement their futures through their next generations, and these seem to be leaving in droves. Again the government (whic

cmon durham,i thought you bitter socialists are always going on about fair play, you were quite correct about the tory moats but no mention of the hypocrital socialist mps jailed for stealing taxpayers money,,,as for the house of lords then look no further than lord Kinnock or lord Prescott two of the most useless politicians in history,,,saying that they and their families became millionaires the time they spent in office.
aqs for all the anti white anti English bigot labour mps about compassion, where was the compassion shown towards innocent people killed or maimed for life during the ira bombihg at brighton I worked with labour bigots who actually cheered it,,,,,,or where was the compassion showed to hundreds of white girls raped by labours muslims cronies,,and where was the compassion they showed when their muslims friends abused dead british soldiers on our own streets? compassion, socialists don't know the meaning of the word,,,nowt but hypocrites.

Dekko, you seem to be picking out a minority of people and their views and saying that it proves that all socialists are therefore despicable. That's a flawed argument.

The thing is what's past is past whoever was at fault it's done You can blame anyone but what for the future. How many should the uk allow in,the thing is ye damned if you do and damned if you don't do anything, nowts changed on that front and you could argue till time immortal the wrongs and rights of any situation, politicians are prime examples of this, need i say anymore. It is a good job there is a bit of water to cross at the channel, the one good thing that the rest of Europe does not have on the mainland.Without it we would have gone down the swanny years ago and that's without the fiasco at Calais that is ongoing.Funny old world,if only it was.

Sandpit: While I do not support opening borders as a quick fix for other place's problems (** it is a recipe for further problems elsewhere). I cannot sit by and let statements like yours pass.

The entire Middle East's region has been destabilized - not just by historical wrongs, But rather by an outside ongoing neoliberal policy of resource and market exploitation - one that is still ongoing.

There is little past about this conflict. Toss in a bunch of over-population (going on globally in the under-developed world everywhere *** (an outcome of wasteful consumer capitalism), a man made climate change driven drought in the region (another outcome of wasteful consumer capitalism) and a reactionary, often despotic, outside neoliberal sponsored and propped up government there. Add up all this and you get a human hell hole.

This is also an outcome of the most recent history of the illegal criminal invasion of Iraq - by The USA, Britain and others and Israeli's century long

If we don't want to deal with refugees we should stop bombing the **** out of countries, and stop trying to inflict our kind of democracy on countries that neither want or need it.
