    Arbroath 3 v 1 montrose

Both teams seemed to realise what it meant to the fans as they both looked up for it from the off. The game sprung into life in the 23rd minute when Bobby Linn fired home from the edge of the box to settle the Lichties.
Arbroath knocked it about better but Montrose, to their credit, harried and chased everything.
Bobby Linn raced onto a through ball in the 66th minute to fire the Lichties 2 up and send the home fans wild, and when substitute Rutherford added a third shortly after it signalled an exodus from the opposing end.
A thunderbolt from Webster took the shine off an impressive display to finish the scoring at 3-1, although we remain third bottom we are only 4 point from second top in a very tight league.
A great team display which sets us up for a tricky trip north to face Brora, and a special mention to the Arbroath Ultras who sang and supported the team for the entire 90 minutes.

Great display from all today from Fleming to subs that came on. Bobby took goals really well justifying his Ladbrokes player of the month. Jamie Clarke had best game of season so far, being picky whately,s passing bit off but doesn't hide and keeps going and Fleming at fault for there goal?. Saying that he now coming out a lot moré IMO still a good commanding keeper. MOM mm Bobby, CJ Or Ricky very difficult as all did superb well done boys. 4 points off second top need to get a run going again. PS Rutherford looks decent.
PPS Well Done Ultras - where was drum???????

The manager got it right today. Set up to defend with one up top then hit on the counter. It seems to suit this squad, Bobby Linn especially. Slick finishing needed and delivered.

The trialiist, Rutherford looks a well rounded forward and did well when he came on. Would he be too similar to Grehan?

The Ultras were great. What an improvement to the atmosphere!

A well deserved win, good all round team performance and I also have to say that the Ultras did the team proud. I still don't know how that third goal went in but well done to Rutherford for getting into the net from that angle. Good to get back to winning ways and looking good for the trip to Brora.

Two of the finest constructed goals that you will see this season. Still needing someone else besides Booby to shoot. Rutherford doesn't know how he scored either. Well rounded performance, but a couple of yellow cards were unjustified. Might be costly at the end of the season.

To be honest, there wasnt an awful lot of difference between this and the Annan game previously. The team just clicked slightly more than it did previously. Thought the first half was flat, but in the second half we really came to life!

Good result, good atmosphere, fun to see us go 3 up again, and one way to look at our results is to point out that we have won 4 out of our last five...
