Driving in to work and Paul Clement was on a call with Alan Brazil today. Nice surprise and once again, he spoke so eloquently about DCFC and football in general. Derby really are establishing themselves on and off the pitch in a positive light.
Sorts of feels that between Mel and Sam, we are more actively branding our club. Think we will always be a community club that matters to Derby folk, but creating the right perception in the media is really getting us talked about in the right way

I remember when he was on the La Liga show on Sky Sports, Revista de La Liga or something like that? The one with Guillem Balague or however you spell his. Anyway, he came across as someone who is quite clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about his football. It's become quite clear to me that Clem has really fallen for Derby as a club and seems thankful for the chance that we've given him. For some reason I believe that if another club came knocking for him, he'd turn them down until feels that his job here is done, and he can pass us on to another manager that won't be thinking "christ what have I been left with here".
He's pretty much walked into a dream first job.
Backed by chairman. Decent squad. Fantastic fans.
He's won the managerial lottery.
Indeed, and I think he's grateful that we gave him that chance.Originally Posted by wristslasher_909
Also heard the programme and its clear that Clement lacks the ego that some managers display and instead has a quiet authority that is most impressive.
Apart from the early draws when he was getting to know the players etc. the teams recent run shows he has the measure of the job. He's made good calls with team selection and substitutions in recent matches. We are lucky to have him.
