Get your builders round there then Anag! I did give a 10 year window so even your builders might be able to increase capacity by a few hundred in that timeframe.

On another issue, Im not sure how well JFH will do... its a massively different job at QPR: expectations, budgets, visibility, pressure etc. Lets not forget hes a very inexperienced manager: big fish in small pond let loose in a much bigger pond.

Some superb contributions there chaps...thank you.

Oh! What a fantastic joy this will be to watch. Nigel put BAFC on the football map and built deep foundations. 2 managers who succeeded him both have elevated themselves to a higher plane on the back of NC's work. On the threshold of the Championship, can NC take it on and finish the job? Has NC learned from his experience thus far....This is more mouth-watering than waking up on a Sunday afternoon to a slow-cooking joint of silverside after several pints of Jaipur.

Why is Nigel talking in the plural.....?

Clough has recently spoken about his desire to return to management.

'I'd love to, love to,' he said. 'We feel as though we've left three clubs in good states, where we've been, and we've improved them, and we'd like another crack at it.'

Is he schizophrenic and talking on behalf of Nice Nigel and his alter ego Nasty Nigel?

NC isn't egotistical...he always talks as a member of a team...the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

Mickleover why on earth do you want them relegated? A small well run club with good family supporters. I can't understand you.

Quite agree RP. Would be delighted to see QPR relegated though, especially on the grounds of them breaching the rules.

How long before we see Jake Buxton and Mason Bennett at the Pirelli?

I'm not sure how Burton would do if they went up (which I can't see them doing now under Clough but nevertheless). Would Championship football attract more fans? Because as AnagRam said, they struggle to fill their tiny stadium (by Championship standards) as it is. Sure ticket sales are only a fraction of the total income a football club gets, but surely that leaves them severely disadvantaged compared to the other clubs. The only club similar to Burton that have been in the Championship in recent years was Yeovil, and look where they are now. The only way I could see them progressing was focusing on playing nice football and signing some quality bargains. And I can't see the former happening...

It seems like Clough is the kind of manager that likes to build slowly, whilst Burton have been on a meteoric rise. Not sure how this one will go.

    A meteoric rise -----6 seasons in div 2,are you real.On 3 thousand gates,Burton Albion.have peaked.
And it takes a brave, manager to run the club.,Ideal for a young up and coming manager.
For Clough it is a poisoned chalice, again.
The hard work is keeping them in the 1st div,,But it is grassroots football and it suits him.
    Good luck,Nigel and Burton Albion
