We miss Hughes & Bryson's ability to pick the lock of defences.

I don't think it's that Ella, for me JB and BJ played well today. But whenever they tried to go forward the front three weren't giving them much option. They were either too far away from the ball or running into dead ends. This seemed to change though when Bent came on. Although he was offside each time, he was making runs into the right areas. Something needs to change next game, Johnny in for Ince is one that definitely needs to happen.

Especially Hughes in my opinion Ella. Thought Butterfield became more influential as the match went on and looked the most likely to do some 'lock picking'. We just seem short on creativity and the ability to link midfield with attack. Ince used to be a creative 'spark' but is invisible at the moment and I know some hold Russell in high esteem but, work rate apart, I'm still waiting for him to actually deliver and stop simply running where the opposition send him - sorry Triz. Strange how it all 'clicked' so well against a supposedly superior team just over a week ago, but I do believe Wednesday will be top six contenders come the end of the season.

Ince..... Where do you play him to get the best from him? 64,000 dollar question. I prefer top see him play more centrally but that is difficult to accomodate. Pants out

Wish it was just the $64000 question Angry. Unfortunately for us it's the £4.75m one.
I was pleased when we signed him and I seem to remember him putting in some really good performances, even 'out wide' last season. I say 'seem' because he's been unrecognisable this season.
I know all players have ups and downs, that's the nature of things and confidence plays a huge part, but it just seems to be becoming something of a habit for him to earn a big money move and then go completely off the boil.
Coincidence, complacency or something more sinister...I just don't know, but I do know he showed a great deal less commitment and ability than the likes of Ross Wallace - who's valued at about £4m less - yesterday.
Think Dawkins is still in a bit of 'turmoil' after recent events in his life, not sure if he's currently available.

Hillsborough has always been a library for some reason. Away their fans are brilliant and will song non-stop all match, second best away fans only to Leeds. But at Hillsborough it's the complete opposite. No idea why.[/quote]

I think it's due to an over capacity & ageing stadium, that was built for a time when the club was well supported by the people of Sheffield.

Yes Ince is in danger of becoming an under achieving acquisition. His body language reflects your observatio

Rambam Spot on about the front three giving no options for the midfield .With Weiman its because he has pace but no football brain With Ince im not sure he may be playing to orders but he is having no contribution at all .As for bringing Russell back im certainly not a fan but only play him on the left when he is on the right he is totally ineffective Personally I know we have been picking up the points but the wide mens contribution is practically non exsistent We have 6 midfielders ( good ones ) put another in and pair Bent and Martin Hope we don't have to play Baird at right back he looked completely lost
