    Change of tactics required

Last night we got lucky, - really lucky. On another day we could easily have lost 5-0, - so we need to accept that.

Don't get me wrong, I thought the result was brilliant and the goal even better, but for long spells it was a backs to the wall blockade and the defence were brilliant if a wee bit fortunate. Then Murdoch came on and we started to control the midfield, but it was only when Hilson came on that the tide actually turned, - even though the crowd had screamed for a striker!

Mr Fowler could you please play a recognised striker? Against Rangers the tide turned when you brought on Oliver and Smith, - (and yes I know that tactic didn't work against Falkirk,) but last night you could have saved yourself a lot of angst and a potential drubbing if you'd played Hilson from the start, - pushing the Hibs defence back and forcing them to chase every ball, - rather than vice versa.

Another thing that must be stopped is the suicide pass. Why do Fowler and Higgins insist in pla

I take it you meant Dowie and Higgins instead of Fowler and Higgins ? I agree about Pickard . He has the makings of a good , holding central midfielder who can attack at corners and free kicks. I have got to say that this boy works like a bear . ------------------------We have lacked a young , energetic, closing down kind of centre forward all season . With a bit of patience from everyone , Dale Hilson can fill that void and it's possibly very timely for the play offs , should we make it.

You can say all this till you are blue in the face, God knows I've tried along with others but it's falling on deaf ears. There's no need for us to set up the way we do and when I saw that line up last night my heart sank. We got away with it which will reinforce into his brain that it works so don't expect any changes.
    Rant over.

JR - yes I meant Dowie not Fowler. - I started to write at 8.15am and got way-laid several times with a plethora of different matters!

The point I was essentially trying to make was astutely picked up by Suppablue, - we got away with it last night by the skin of our teeth, - but the reality is that we don't need to make it so difficult for ourselves.

As mentioned, - being a manager is the most difficult thing in the world, but the best managers (in whatever capacity they are working) listen to advice (good and bad) from other people and then make up their own minds.

To that end may I once again cordially suggest that Mr. Fowler comes into the stand and watches how both teams set out their stalls so that he has a better idea of the entire match - rather than the one dimensional level from the touch line?

I'd immediately stop the suicide passes; play fast strikers throughout the game who stretch teams, and bring on fresh legs considerably earlier to save Lyle for exampl

He's surely seen enough now to know the tactics he plays aren't doing himself or the team any favours .
The result last night was great but it's not good to watch . Oliver and young Smith must wonder what they've got to do to get a game upfront instead of Pickard . He gave 100% but that's not his position IMO

Well we are not getting a change of tactics so change of manager required.

Give Higgins the gig till the summer if he wants it, nothing to lose now.

I'm sorry but enough's enough Mr Fowler . You're losing the dressing room and you've already lost fans

Nothing personal against young Pickard but if I was Oliver , Russell or a fully fit Lyle I'd be pissed off he's starting before me
Brownlie's a bombscare , Conroy hasn't kicked a ball since September and Jacobs has been a big disappointment

The football on show is dreadful and totally unacceptable
Sorry James but it's just not working out

PS - Murdoch must wonder what he's got to do to get a regular start .
    He's wasted on the bench

You can't drop a player who scored and won you a game the previous outing. It's just utter crazyness. He did the same when Aiden Smith scored against Rangers, dropped him the next game.

He still doesn't know his strongest 11.

Sorry but he has to depart in the summer.

Listened to his podcast and he now knows we must start winning games so we will see how he sets up against St.Mirren. I'm all for giving youth a chance but Pickard should not be playing in a forward role when we have recognised strikers. Has to go 2 upfront.
