    The Missing 3-4 hundred

Away from the swathes of old firm and EPL fans that are in Dumfries ( and every town in Scotland I may add) there are a few hundred people that would class themselves as QoS fans who are not attending games . Can we ever get them back now ? It might not be as simple as an adventurous attacking brand of football that I know some would say. After all, AJ's team were playing exciting stuff and the crowds remained static . Queens prices are cheap compared to the rest of the division as well and personally I don't think £16 is expensive considering we have a FT set up to service . What can be done to tempt people back or have they just got out of the habit never to return ?

Don't think the entrance fee is that much of a problem as it is one of the cheapest in the league . One thing we MUST start doing is trying to improve the number of youngsters attending Palmerston . Did hear the Junior Blues members are now under 300 in number compared to nearly 800 at one point . At only £18 a season it's an absolute bargain
The club must start a major recruitment campaign at the end of the season and try and attract as many of the future supporters back to Palmerston . Never mind your "retro" concerts , let's look at the bigger picture here . We've an ageing support and need to youngsters hooked at an early age before they get hooked by something or someone else

Just to pick up a point about AJ's attacking football season. It was in a lower division against unattractive opposition who brought zero away fans.
If he had been playing the same style in this division then I would suspect attendance would be far greate

The promotion season was the most exciting, attacking football I have witnessed from QOS in my 48 years of attending yet, as you rightly point out JR, still people were not attracted back. The opposition are not relevant to me, I go to watch QOS.

The previous promotion drew a pretty much full-house but this time around just over 2 thousand turned up for the final home game of a remarkable double-winning, record breaking season. In the intervening years we reached the Scottish Cup final and played in Europe - 2 occurrences I never thought would happen in my lifetime, if ever !

With that positive background it is obvious that various external factors have contributed to this stark contrast and though many seem, as always, to seek to blame the Club it is not justified. Indeed, every Club in Scotland is experiencing the same challenges.

Deek, as far as I am aware we are still very much in the hunt for fourth place, though "mid table mediocrity" as you put it may be the outcome

NV - I see where Deek is coming from as the great escape under McCall in 2006 was very exciting while this
season's attempt to clinch 4th place (so far) has been in the main mediocre.

NV, totally agree about the watching Qos and not the opposition so much. It wouldn't matter who Queens were playing , we would be there supporting them . ---------Talking of other distractions for people on a Saturday, I watched an EPL game on my TV firestick in the afternoon seen as Queens weren't playing. If I could watch this game for NOTHING , how many thousands of others are doing this . All sorts of dodgy satellite boxes and streaming devices pick up Premiership games now and I have heard that ' places' in Dumfries show regular games now on Saturday 3pm . This all adds up to the difficulty in trying to get folk through the turnstiles.

It's not rocket science but a friend of mine regularly watches all TV channels,Sports and current box office films on his laptop and without a TV licence.

The recruitment campaign for next years Junior Blues must start ASAP . The £18 joining fee is great value but let's give them extras with it like a JB t-shirt , a Queens flag and offer them chances to win competitions where they can train with or meet the
