His articles are excellent, as his is Queen of the South book. Think he's a Manchester United fan.

I will second that about Iain McCartney . Excellent, well researched input into the programme . You would actually think he is a Queens fan instead of a Man Utd one with the effort he puts in.

Iain McCartney is a lifelong Manchester United supporter, and chairman of Manchester United Writers Association. He is the author of numerous books on the club, including titles on United legends Roger Byrne and Duncan Edwards, and Manchester United 1958-68: Rising from the Wreckage from Amberley. The titles The Forgotten Fixtures and The Theatre of Dreams, amongst others, have been highly acclaimed. He has also run the Manchester United Review Collectors Club for the past twenty-three years, and has possibly the largest private archive of newspaper match reports and articles in the country. He lives in Dumfries, but is an Old Trafford regular.

Big Iain is originally from Dalbeattie and although a Manchester United fanatic has also followed Queens for years
and, in fact, contributed to the excellent Queens programmes of the 1990s so I am pleased that I introduced him to
the current programme editor Mr Paterson after it had finished bottom of the awards in recent years. Moving to 7th
place is a step in the right direction but as the judges commented the very heavy advertising is impacting on the
content however I am 100 per cent sure Iain could provide even more articles IF he was allowed more space in the
current issue.

Palmyman, maybe if we had some interesting bits and pieces from yours truly then the programme can get even better. In the past , interviewing ex players about their time at Palmerston I thought was always a good read.

A 'Where are they now' ? feature would be great again

Agree nunez that would be great but in the past it was our
former director Colin Rutherford who wrote about these players. He had the time and money to travel
all over the UK to interview ex - players - for instance down to Wales to speak to the late Eddie Garrett
etc.
