I have been watching this thread from the start and I have to say that there are some suggestions that have been decent and others that I find just plain daft. The managers job is to make decisions and to help him do that he has got an assistant. He also has the benefit of the players themselves during the course of a game. These for me are the only people he should be listening to before making decisions on tactics
If he starts listening to the board, the u.20 manager, the fans and not forgetting the tea lady, on top of the advice from the asst manager and players then half the game will be gone by the time he has spoken to everyone and there will be different views from all which, even writing this, becomes confusing and is a classic scenario for too many cooks spoiling the broth!
We all have our own thoughts on how we would like to see the team set up and what style of football is being played. We would all love to see us play like The 1970 Brasil team, but the reality is that
Was not at Kirkcaldy but spoke to a few fans that were and they said it was one of the the worst performances
of the season. Today's Standard are particularly critical saying '' the crowd at Starks Park eagerly anticipated a
ding - dong play off battle but what they got was essentially a Raith Rovers walkover and had it not been for
keeper Thomson Queen's could've ended up on the wrong side of an embarrassing result ''
Fat fan you do make some valid points as always.
Why don't we ask Mr Fowler to consider the following:
1) Always pass to a player who is under pressure, thus creating more chances for the opposition and an opportunity for our keeper to check out his shot saving prowess?
2) When attacking we should never look for the killer pass and instead always play the ball square to Dowie and Higgins, so that they in turn can put our midfield under pressure yet again, - or better still pass back to the keeper so that he can launch the ball up-field - where it can be easily dealt with by the opposition defence.
3) Never play fast attackers or introduce substitutes early to allow them an opportunity to get properly involved in the game.
4) Always keep players who are booked on the park, as they might get a second booking and put the team under even more pressure.
5) Above all don't play open, attacking football as it might attract more paying customers to Palmerston.
6) The manager sho
Jardi. At no time did I say I like the tactics the manager is using. What I am saying is that it's his job to make the decisions and if it drives fans away or doesn't prove successful then he should go. But I don't think people are looking at what he has got at his disposal.
The strongest area of our team is in defence. Like it or not, we don't have the players that could play the way we were last season and the previous three or four years. The club hasn't replaced the players we lost with the same calibre. Some of your points I agree with, some I don't and think you, and others are being a bit harsh. Eg the point you make about quick strikers. In response I would say who exactly. Hilaon-injured for most of season, tan man- grafter but not so quick these days, Picard-a player you have stated in the past should be played there has shown that he is decent in the air but I would put cash on my dad beating him over 30 yards, so who do you suggest he plays up front that is quick.
The
I have thought that the pre match warm up is too arduous . I am no expert on this at all just what I am seeing .

Admin there's more than a hint of sarcasm in the above 10 points, but there is a deliberate reverse psychology, which would be brilliant if Mr. Fowler implements, because he would then deliver what many of us have been wanting all season.
As mentioned at the beginning of this thread, - being a football manager, like a referee is a thankless task, however, I always value constructive criticism, - even if it could be interpreted as "having a go at the manager."
It is up to the manager to consider what changes if any that he chooses to make, but IMHO his present tactics are not making the best of the players at his disposal.
I rest my case.Originally Posted by palmylad
