    Leicesters Achievements

I was thinking if Leicester were to be champions of the Premiership, would it be a bigger achievement than Derby and Forests achievement's of the 70's and 80' ???

Good point, its difficult to compare different era's, there was a more level playing field then (apart from the pitches which were anything but level!) the Man U's Liverpool's were still as one would expect in the ascendancy and unfancied clubs could and did challenge.

There is a feeling that the increased money in the prem has evened matters up somewhat - not necessarily in enabling clubs to buy better quality players - Leicester have spent **** in all really, but in their ability to keep hold of them through competing on wages.

Its perhaps best just to say that its potentially one of the best achievements in the modern era and gives hope that IF we can get it right at Derby and get promoted, the conventional wisdom that we will be in a continual relegation batt

I was thinking about this a lot. To match those achievements they need to follow it up, however that shouldn't any lessen the achievement made (if).

I do think it shows the poor standard of the modern game, all these millionaires owned by billionaires and they are beaten by Leicester, who haven't really had a decent side since the O'Neil days. It's over-valued and overhyped, the "big" teams, eg Manchester Clubs Arsnel & Chelsea, are not dominating games, handing out thrashings and going on long unbeaten runs, they are all very average. I can't think of many players that make me think, "wow, what a player".

It's one of the frustrations I have of this season so far however, as it's a good an opportunity as ever to get established in the top league, before standards improve and the league pulls away again.

It's probably just about on par. Derby won the league when Liverpool, ****nal & Leeds were very strong. Forests achievements are even more astounding. Leicester have done it when the top sides Chelsea, ****nal, Utd, ManCity, Liverpool are not setting the world on fire. However they have done something that was considered improbable if not impossible. The only thing that taints the Foxes rise to the top is that they opted for administration. Other clubs who actually paid their debts have all not faired so well.
