    Player Ratings V Bolton

    Player Ratings V Bolton
    Carson 5
Had to be woken up from deep slumber in the 73rd minute as somehow Bolton had got themselves a penalty. Still rubbing his eyes as Zak Clough slotted it home. Produced a smart save 5 minutes later but had a harder time drying the dishes at home this morning than at any point this afternoon.
    Christie 5
A very bright start had him galloping down the right beating his man and just putting his cross-shot inches wide in an opening 15 minute spell that saw Bryson, Ince, Russell, Christie and Olson all go very close. It was raining shots on Bolton. Christie had a very quiet game from then on though; We saw no futher attacking intent from him but he defended well enough, although Bolton didn’t exactly pose much threat.
    Keogh 6
Carried on from Tuesday night; dominant and played at a high tempo. He has upped his pace when coming forward with the ball and looks almost Mark Wright-like. An interesting tussle with Ole man Heske

Thanks Ella. Encouraging for me that Butterfield can return, put what is doubtless the disappointment of being dropped behind him, and settle back in so quickly. Perhaps he and Johnson cannot play in the same side, but it's good to have cover and eight goals in such a roller coaster season is not to be sniffed at.

Very good point about Butters. Wassall got team selection just right; the only change he made being the obvious one. And has to be said that Butterfield has that goal-scoring touch; not sure how many goals he's chipped in (is it 8?) but with a return like that you'd have to say he's very unlucky not to be an automatic choice. We clearly will have an embarrassment of midfield riches when all fit. I saw Johnson with a strapping on his left peg yesterday so wonder when he'll be fit. But when he is, it's a huge problem to fit them all in. However, it's no coincidence that our return to form in my view has a great deal to do wit

I'd say that you were very harsh on both Keogh and Carson. Keogh kept driving out of defence, which was one of the things that gave us real momentum and didn't allow Bolton time to settle. Some of Carson's distribution was quite stunning. He played one sixty yard inch perfect pass to Johnny Russell which put the Scotsman away without him even having to break stride.

Agreed. Carson's distribution was very good...and I do recall that punt to Russell.
