Few years back my bank's fraud department rang me one early morning to ask if i was in Australia.
They picked up on an unusual attempted transaction on my card In Australia.
It turned out they think my card was cloned at a petrol garage run by dodgy Sri Lankan's .

I have always fancied going there Trick, what was it like?

some fo.oker had it away with my debt / credit card yesterday , caused loads of mither ( horrible foo..kers ) hence my stress level & need for beer ! .....on till 9 tonight so have a little nose bag & bottle ( or 2 ) of wine & hammer it tomoz , no doubt i shall be donating 20 quid to the bookie ...give the big race , sky have a fight on saturday ..may watch that ..if i am sober at that point ...which sadly i doubt :-( ;-)

Yes soz about that BW, I just saw the card glinting in the sun and I had to nick it. But dont worry, I was so pi*ssed I couldnt read the numbers on it so I cut it up. No worries
Seriously though I know the feeling from when I lost a card once, I was desperate to ring the bank as soon as possible to cancel it and I kept getting put on hold and having to listen to Mantovani music!!

eye acido its bad eh ! because i have a debit & credit card ....you have to ring twice ! FFS
The police told me that in the first instance they wont follow it up ( despite the fact its all on CCTV , You can see her picking it up & putting it her pocket ) they say at that point no crime had been committed ! it wasnt until i went on line to check my account that you could she the ****er had used it 4 times , i didnt know my card was one of those contactless thingys ! so i was back on the blower for another hour , then rang the police AGAIN & gave them the info ......still not heard anything :-(
