I can't agree more - there are young kids on the streets, who have never been given a chance in life. This kind of money would help to provide another life. What about the ex-servicemen and women who have ended up on the streets, many have mental illnesses and the government has turned its back on them. The way the civil service and politicians spunks away our taxes beggars belief at times.

Get the Tax Dodgers Party and their supporters to cough up then. There is much much more held back by them than any amount on the Foreign Aid/Defence budget. Do ex-servicemen and women many who have mental illnesses still end up on the streets ? My oh my, what a career advertisement for the military.

It's very obvious to me that certain posters will always revert to personal abuse against each other no matter what the subject is Acido which is a shame as they are obviously very intelligent and learned people but they let themselves down very badly with their childish behaviour and at the same time bore the pants off the rest of us!! I have tried to reason with them and appealed to their better nature but to no avail! I think they should now be tried by their peers (the other posters on SM) and if found guilty they should be immediately dragged outside and summarily executed! I think before proceeding with such drastic action all reasonable minded posters on SM should cast their vote first on whether or not they agree with my proposal?

So the question is: should Arundelred and Afghan be tried for repeatedly failing to act in a reasonable and responsible manner? My vote is yes they should, it's time for them to be brought to account for their outrageous behaviour!!! Fellow poster

I don't mind us spending some money on foreign aid but now it is getting beyond a joke.

Last year we gave away £12Billion, much of it to despotic countries and a lot of it on worthless causes such as £3 million to China to make their kids more aware of British football, £15million to columbia to try and make their cows not fart too much to help with climate change, money to a Turkish pride march, well you get the idea.

What the phuck, it's unbeilevable.

So I have with over 160,000 people signed a petition to get this debated in the Commons, which will happen pretty soon, I will keep you posted.

Think the only thing that's 'getting beyond a joke' is you using up energy for such a pointless, selfish petition. Our total foreign aid budget adds up to just 0.7% - that's .7 of 1% ffs - of our annual spending. I'm sure a small proportion of it isn't targeted as well as it might be - it's spent by politicians after all - but the vast

.7% doesnt seem a lot but when you find 4 other similar situations it becomes 3.5%. That would go along way to maintaining the public services we are still losing or even better still helping our own homeless.

£12Bn is a lot of money, it attutudes like youres that are the reason why governments continually overspend.

Ask Roger Im sure he will agree that your "its only" comment is a ill judged one. If the government were going to raise income tax by 0.7% to fund, would you be quite so keen to support?
