I really don't see it that way. We didn't the last time we were in League 2. We got promotion. We had the good fortune to have young players coming through who made a difference. We don't know that isn't going to happen again. The constant demands for the manager to be replaced are a waste of time because it is unlikely to happen any time soon regardless of how much huffing and puffing the protestors do. The club needs to be stabilised which I believe John Bowler is trying to do. That buys Davis a bit more time and failure in the early part of the season may see the change happen anyway. But if we start well then there is no reason to sack SD. Let's face it, he has the experience of getting us promoted from that division already.

The only thing I agree with the above post is that John Bowler is attempting to stabilise the club. There is no way on earth these players want to play for Steve Davis. Our squad is riddled with inexperienced players who tow the line, who aren't a presence, who don't look fit nor capable to be consistent stand-out performers each week. He got us promoted in 2012, the year Bolton were a Premier League club and Rotherham were in League Two. A lot changes in football in four years and I am afraid Steve Davis' last three years prove to us that he should be sacked. 33 wins in 135 league games is shocking form, 9 wins in 63, 6 wins in 46, 1 win in 23.

I reckon if he was struggling 10 games into next season you'd be calling for him to be retained on the account that he got us promoted once. I am confident we won't be competitive in League Two under Steve Davis this time round because he is a completely different manager, lacking the hunger, drive and ambition to succeed with these group of

I expect that the attendance numbers were boosted by season ticket holders who had not bothered to turn up. Pleased that Saunders scored. That should boost his confidence - we will need his goals next season.

I actually renewed 2 season tickets last night !. Yes, crazy I know. Last night was a typical game of one team already relegated (and it showed) and another team more or less resigned to their fate. Total bore fest. I must admit, due to the very low crowd, I could actually hear David Fox telling the younger ones what to do and where to go in the first half. He was telling Kirk to close down and cut them off, push him out wide. Presume this should also be taught on the training pitch and should be second nature ?. Surprised Bakayogo was taken off and the seems most of the crowd were too, but on Radio Joke it was said he was injured ?. Really can't see him signing for us next season. Unless we toughen up next season, not sure we will be above half way in league 2. Some of the dead wood needs to be shown the door asap.

Re season tickets....I know not really the thread subject.
Has anybody else noticed that the biggest discount is being offered if you renew before the end of the season. From memory, this is the the first time, normally it's not so many tiers of discounts?
Apparently,and from a reliable source, we would struggle to pay the wages otherwise.

I won't be getting a season ticket but I will definitely still be rocking up next season, with or without Mr Davis. Yes we are God awful & an embarrassment at the minute, but they're my embarrassment and like a heavy dose of the flu I can't shake them.

I've supported them since for 30 odd years and will support them for 30 odd more. I agree with Timmy58 - the majority of us want changes but our love of supporting Crewe Alexandra should remain unwavered.

I agree wholeheartedly. There have been times this season when I have tried to shrug off yet another defeat, but to no avail. Losing still hurts. My wife sometimes asks why I cannot support a successful team, but Crewe Alexandra is in my blood no matter how tough it gets.
