I do believe the word is condescending about Stan. I always thought he was a really funny, decent lad. He always came across that way.
You can have all the intellegance in the world, but if you lack self awareness, then your just going to rub most people up the wrong way eventually. Stan will always blame everyone else, its always everyone but him, the whole world is wrong, he's right. Always the victim.
I'm sure I have annoyed him at various point aswell, and I'm not proud of that. I did used to really like Stan.
But belittling people, due to your own intellect, nah .....
