DERBY COUNTY FACTS & EXPERIENCES OVER 40 YEARS

I supported Derby after going to Tottenham in 1975 and determined to either follow Derby or Spurs depending on the outcome of the game - the winner got my allegiance - spurs were winning - Derby won though 3-2. that was that.

Cried my eyes out over Gordon Hills double in the cup semi - knew I was a real supporter then.

Always felt Derby were afraid to be a really big club.

Always felt Forest were our Masters back in the day.

Although I havent seen them beat us live in 30 years. (must have picked the lucky games !)

Think our support is in the top 16 in the country

OUR away support used to be good- very loud - not so today

    fave 3 players from each decade.....70's 80's 90's .......last 16 years a blur lol

    Charlie George
    Bobby Davison
    Dean Sturridge

    current advice for the team....

Do a Leicester and LOSE the FEAR.

are we good enough to go up? NO

Will we go up thus year ? YES if we beat HULL.

    BEST STRIP ? 97-98 season

    Again.....

    are we a big

Very strange in that from the very limited viewing here on TV I supported Derby and Spurs with their style of play. Decided I needed to pick one team and similarly they were due to play the next weekend. Result was Derby 8 Spurs 2 so an emphatic decision in supporting Derby from then on. I think the 76 season so just the next one from yourself.

Favourite players were Charlie George, Roy McFarland and Archie Gemmell, Also Kevin Hector and best move ever when Shilton joined (never thought he looked 6' 1" - at least not on TV). If only their was a Pat Jennings around now (and he was shorter than Shilton).

Just looked it up and was October 76, Rioch scored 4, Charlie George scored 2 and another favorite Colin Todd scored 1, the other was Rod Thomas. Pat Jennings in goal for Spurs and someone by the of Keith Osgood scored for Spurs, Hoddle in midfield (so how old was that).
