Venezuela with the shock of the tournament! Unless Jamaica beats Mexico, Uruguay is out.

First time in Venezuela's history that they've won back to back games in Copa America.

Another great entertaining game last night with Venezuela [71st in the rankings] turning over Uraguay [7th I think] with the boy from the Baggies getting the winner.

And Brazil are out of Copa America! They finish third in their group and do not advance. All they needed was a draw tonight. Peru's goal should have been disallowed due to a handball, but Brazil can't have too many complaints as they did not look like scoring much of the night. Brazil of old would have bossed a match like this without question.

Dunga probably flushed out after this tournament.

Didn't watch the game but glad that Brazil are gone. Bunch of posers.

Going into Houston tonight to watch Mexico V Venezuela, should be quite an occasion.

Here's the incident, easy to pick out in slow motion.

Justice for the Ecuador that was wrongly disallowed against them in the opening group match. Or at least that's how I'm trying to justify it

First quarterfinal matchup tonight - USA v Ecuador. My girlfriend is in the PeaceCorps in Ecuador so this is causing some strain for us

But the US is up 1-0 on a Clint Dempsey header from a Jermaine Jones cross. The old guard showing up for the Yanks.

US into the quarterfinals. But we will be missing three of our starters due to yellow card accumulation/red card. Yedlin will be back in the lineup though

But we will probably play Argentina. So we were probably gonna get beat handily anyways

Missed the game, stuff going on at home, glad the US won though, didn' realise it was a quaterfinal, good for them.

Argentina, you never know mate' it's just one game and anything can happen.

Had a great night out at the Mexico/Venezuela game. Passion, atmosphere OMG! We were sat among both Mexican and Venezuelan fans and the vibes were splendid. Game was played with enthusiasm to say the least, what little skill that the Venezuelans lacked compared to the Mexicans that made up for with extreme valour [well I think that is what it was!].

Went to my son's house after the game. He recently bought a house on the near east side of Houston in an "up and coming" area. The Hispanic ghetto in truth. We sat on the porch and had a beer and then the next door neighbor major drug dealer and his two pit bulls paid a visit, he also brought with him a very expensive bottle of Tequila.

As a result I spent the night on my sons couch. Head like Birkenhead next morning.

    Great night though.

    The Tequila.

Mexico fans are fantastic (when they're not throwing stuff on the field or participating in homophobic chants). Most games in the states are like a home game for them.

Will you be going to the next match in Houston? US vs Argetina (most likely)
