There's going to be nobody 'sent back' in the near future or, possibly at all. We remain members of the EU until the leaving process has been completed and freedom of movement continues to apply. The terms of our exit and the trading relationship that follows is yet to be worked out, but Switzerland, Norway and Iceland all accepted freedom of movement as part of the price for access to the European Single Market. We may yet end up doing the same.
As for the Europeans who are currently in the country, they have lives and jobs here. It would be economic suicide to 'send them back' and any attempt is likely to be blocked by the European Court of Human Rights in any event.
We can't send anybody back whilst we remain members of the EU. As for afterwards - see above.
Who do you think works in the care homes that you are concerned about? Eastern European and other migrants undertake a lot of the low paid work involved. Should we abandon free movement, two of the issues that the country is going to have to grapple with is the wage inflation that makes care homes even less affordable for the country and the fact that migrants tend to be of working age and are needed to balance the demographic in this country, which has an ageing population.
