With regard to a United States of Europe, ramAnag, yes I do see benefits on the economy and defence. I have said that I like the Single Market, and there is already cooperation on a lot of defence issues. However, the moment you have a European Army etc there is an immediate 'nationalistic element'. This is inevitable and was very apparent between Britain, Russia and America in the 2nd World War. Allies yes but still internal 'nationalistic' crossfire!. Now, if you start adding Turkey and the Eastern States bordering Russia ...well beware!! At the present time if states want to be neutral in areas of conflict like the Middle East then no problem but how can a state be neutral in a European Force if Europe enters into war with whoever!!
No, economic cooperation and military cooperation no problem but integration with a common economic and defence policy no way!!

This is probably due to the majority of the EU countries looking after themselves. If you look at the ridicules system of moving from Brussels to Strasbourg every month at a cost of millions each year, a system which most of the MEPs agree is stupid, that cannot be changed because France veto’s it. I wonder if it could be because Strasbourg is in France. In any election/referendum not knowing enough about something has not stopped people in the past. In general elections many people vote labour because they always vote labour. Many vote Conservative for the same reason. I personally have voted both and even Lib/Dem but I do listen to what their policies are and vote for who I believe will be best for the country and in the end best for me and my family. I am told, by the way that if the referendum had been voted on in the same system of voting for Mps, first past the post (FPTP) leave would have walked it.

When I decided to vote leave yes I did expect the £ to fall and the stock market to enter a period of uncertainty, anyone who thought otherwise didn't understand the currency market or the stock market. But the stock market has recovered dramatically, albeit because of the Bank of England’s statement and Osborne saying he will not announce a BREXIT budget but I will be very surprised if when Article 50 is fully implemented this country within a very short length of time will be far better off both financially and as a country.

As regards to hate crime I also expected a rise in this because you will always get some idiots being like that but I also think the media go out looking for this and maybe in some cases encouraging it to get a story.

Finally ramAnag We are obviously never going to agree on this subject and I respect your opinion the same as I do respect anyone’s opinion, its a free world as the saying goes. The one thing I hope that we both agree is in our support for the Rams and I'm sure we are both looking forward to a successful season. After all us Rams Fans must all be friends even though we do not all have the same beliefs.
Fair enough rp...as you say we obviously differ. Think we've at least both thought about it even if we have come to different conclusions.
I'll fall out forever with the racists and bigots but I don't believe you're one of them. Can't abide Farage, or Johnson and Gove with their idiotic public school japes but, in our own different way, you and I are both moderates, albeit at different ends of the political spectrum, so as you say, let's not fall out.

Roger does have a point though

It has been blissfully rat-free of late. Must be off doing something really important somewhere or maybe, with luck, a moderator on another FM site has banned him!! 😃😃 Comedy Gold that would be. Romanis, if you're reading this, do us a favour.

Tbf Roger...it's been just about 'everyone free of late'. Lost so many since the change...good ones too...Ella, VdLH, Cornwall etc. I'm only a Namraga or Hologram or something.
    Maybe he can't sign in

It wasnt the only reason for not voting leave, just an example of a big fat lie one of many. As for what other leavers on here based their decision on - cutting immigration, "taking back control" - that one I find really funny what do the those who voted leave think they are now in control of? It sure as hell isn't how this country functions thats still in the hands of the vested interests who even now are working to ensure that their interests and not those who voted leave are given priority by the politicians.

Anyway I look forward to the freedom and better life that leaving the Eu is going to bring about!
