A plaque on a piece of sandstone embedded in the ground says that the stone excavated from that particular area of the park was used to build the Midsteeple. An interesting fact for a proud Doonhamer like myself and people like you also. Did you also know the Midsteeple has also been used as a prison and as a store for the towns supply of gunpowder and ammunition in the past.
